Meditation and deep relaxation during Yoga Nidra with Kanan at Loopwell in Montclair

Modern-day living takes a toll on us all.  An effortless way to recharge and detox our whole system lies in the power of the breath, meditation, and deep relaxation.

In this restorative session, you will experience:

1. Pranayama - prana is the subtle, universal life force, ayama is to regulate, control, and even lengthen. Pranayama is about increasing prana using the breath. These techniques typically involve breathing through the nostrils in a specific pattern of inhalation, breath retention, and exhalation. When done correctly, pranayama brings harmony to the body, mind, and spirit. It makes you stronger physically, mentally, and spiritually.

2. Meditation - Meditation is the essential training of attention into an effortless inner state of calm. When we grasp attention, and it becomes heightened or recurrent thoughts in the brain, it becomes known as "experience-dependent neuroplasticity". But as we gain better control of attention, it lays the foundation for changing our brain and life, for the better.

3. Yoga Nidra + Sound Bath
Yoga Nidra, often referred to as yogic sleep, is a deeply restorative guided meditation designed to induce profound physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. As you rest in stillness, you’ll be immersed in a soothing sound bath, using therapeutic instruments and vibrations to calm the nervous system, quiet the mind, and support deep healing. This combination allows the body to fully release while the mind drifts into a meditative, dream-like state—revitalizing you from the inside out.

This session includes psycho-education on ways in which stress impacts the mind and body, scientific benefits related to this type of meditation, support in establishing a well-being intention, meditation, and resources for personal growth. This style of meditation is guided with specific cues that can deepen relaxation and aid in stress reduction.
