"Meditation strengthens the prefrontal cortex - the part of the brain responsible for focus, decision-making, and emotional regulation, while weakening old reactive loops tied to the amygdala - the fight or flight center."
UCLA Neuroscience on Meditation
We all face difficult emotions from time to time. But in a world where stress and pain seem to be constantly rising, it’s easy for those emotions to become overwhelming and start impacting our thoughts, relationships, and overall well-being. When left unchecked, they can begin to shape our thoughts and behaviors in ways that don’t serve us well. Through mediation practice, we can learn how to manage the mind, reshape emotional responses, and build healthier patterns of presence, allowing us to navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and resilience.
Drawing from neuroscience, Eastern spirituality, and Western psychology, Kanan Kapila guides you through accessible techniques designed to help you break free from limiting thought patterns and emotional cycles. You’ll explore the 7 simple steps to cultivating a consistent and meaningful meditation practice - whether you're just beginning or deepening your current path.
